My time flies!

Here it is, 10 days until we go pick up Gretsch! We made our last trip to Petco to pick up some Halo puppy food and some small treats. We also decided to have a small, light ID tag engraved for his first few weeks. Later on we plan on getting a great ID tag that fits over the collar that is safer and can't come off. (It also doesn't have that clinky tag noise) On that one we won't have his name, in case he gets stolen.  If you are interested in these "CollarTags" go to this website who makes them for only $9.

Getting Big!

He is growing up so fast! The pups have started running around with Mom, but she's been keeping them on a "short leash." Gretsch looks alot like Megan (mommy) and so does McNair, what the other family named their pup. He seems to be getting a lot lighter and his mask looks like it may be receding. We'll love him no matter what!

With Mom...

Our Boy!

After some long deliberation, we choose the smaller, brindle patterned pup. The breeder says he has a softer coat that may not be as wiry and water resistant as an adult, but can never be sure of it until the adult coat comes in. As long as he is low-shedding and hypoallergenic for Willy, thats all that matters to us!

Here he is at 4 weeks...

I think I've fallen in love!

And with his brother (he is on the left)

New Photos!

Here they are! New photos of Megan's pups at almost three weeks old. They are getting big! We get to make the trip to Virginia next weekend to pick him out of the two males that were whelped. The breeder has sent two photos of the males close up, one has a darker mask and what looks like a brindle pattern and the other has a dark mask with a lighter wheaten or red color.  Aren't they adorable? Now we have to pick....

Happy Birthday Gretsch!

Our little furbaby was born on Wed July 8! The litter included two males and one female. In these photos with their mom, Megan, they are a week old and don't have their eyes open yet! They are "nice and fat and nursing well," the breeder says this is great! So tiny!

We have a date!

We have reserved a puppy from an upcomming litter expected to be born around July 20, 2009! The dam (mom) will be Megan and the sire (dad) will be Cooper. We hope to bring him home the same week as Will's birthday; September 16th. Cross your fingers, we're hoping for a healthy litter!

Reading Up!

Over the past two months, I've been aquiring via Borders coupons and Ebay books on dog breeds, and specifically Cairn Terriers. Since I've had dogs before, but never had to train a puppy, Puppies for Dummies was high on my list. : )
